On May 17-19, 2024, the 27th China University Tennis Championship (Northwest Division) was successfully held in Zhengzhou University. Under the leadership of coach Yuanyuan, 8 players of our school's men's and women's tennis teams performed well. The women's team won the third place and the men's team won the championship for the first time, creating the best result in history.
Our school's men's team as the fourth seed with Zhengzhou University Physical Education College, Xi 'an Translation University in the same group to play, in the group match lost to the local battle Zhengda Sports Institute, but we timely adjust the state and tactics, beat Xi 'an Translation University and qualified second in the group, in the quarter final against the group B group first Xi 'an Electronic Science and Technology University, in the singles 1-1 draw, Winning doubles 7:5 to advance to the next round! Then the semifinal against Xi 'an Physical Education University, the favorite of the championship, our school entered the final with an absolute advantage of 2-0!
In the final again against the School of Physical Education of Zhengzhou University with home advantage, the teacher and the players summed up the experience of defeat in the group stage before the match, conducted an in-depth analysis of the next final, studied the countermeasures and the order of the match, and finally fought bravely in the final, showed solid skills and resolute perseverance, and finally won the championship with 2-0!
At the same time, the women's team of our school overcame the unfavorable situation of the main players' sprain on the field, fought hard and persevered in the game, defeated Xidian University and Xi 'an Physical Education University, and still played their own style in the face of such a strong opponent as Shaanxi Normal University! In the end, they narrowly lost 1:2 and achieved a good result of third place.
The 27th China University Tennis Championship Division (Northwest Division) has been successfully concluded, this competition shows the professional level of the tennis program of Taiyuan University of Technology, demonstrates the rapid growth of the tennis program of our school in the northwest division, and sets an example for the development of school sports.
